Stara Varoš Claims Victory, with Budva and Feniks Completing the Podium

The Stara Varoš Jiu-Jitsu Club claimed first place at the Montenegrin National Championship held in Danilovgrad.

Budva secured the second position, while the Podgorica-based club Feniks took third place.

The event, which took place in the Police Academy hall, saw participation from 428 competitors and 46 duo pairs across 15 clubs from Montenegro.

“Spectators enjoyed thrilling matches and exceptional techniques shown by participants of all ages, ranging from young beginners to seasoned seniors. The Championship reaffirmed the high caliber of the jiu-jitsu competitive landscape in Montenegro,” stated the Jiu-Jitsu Federation.

The champions from the Stara Varoš Podgorica club are as follows:

For seniors and those under 21 years: Nikola Perović x2, Vuk Džudović x2, Jelena Jovanović x2, Aleksandar Burzanović, Balša Škrkić x2, Aleksa Šuković, Aleksa Rašović x2, and Branka Mujovic x2.

In the children’s and junior category: Dobrivoje Janković x5, Elena Jovanović x4, Sergije Lončar x4, Boško Zindović x3, Boris Ilin x3, Petar Ilin, Andrija Lekić x2, Balša Sinđić x2, Vasilije Stojović x2, Nikša Đurović x2, Marko Maraš x2, Petar Džudović x2, Uroš Tomic x2, Milana Jovićević x2, Luka Đukanović x2, Alisa Hordienko x2, Jana Boljević, Oleg Ilin, Viktor Vidić, Miron Podgornov, Oleksandr Chupryna, Simeon Vasić, and Dimitrije Jovićević.

“We are extremely pleased with the club’s performance and our fourth consecutive national title. This year’s results surpass last year’s achievements. We now have 61 new national champions, including several representatives for Montenegro at the upcoming European, World, and Balkan Championships. The competitors displayed high levels of skill, sportsmanship, and fair play, which makes us very proud, especially with no significant injuries reported. In just 15 days, we will be competing in the European Championship in Cyprus under 16, featuring Elena Jovanović, Boško Zindović, and Andrija Lekić. I extend my gratitude to all team members for their dedication to training and commendable performances,” commented Stara Varoš coach Mladen Jokmanović.
