Another Blow to Milan
The recent elimination from European competition, followed by another loss in Serie A, has made for a tough week for AC Milan supporters who are beginning to lose faith in their aspirations for the 2024/25 season.
The Rossoneri faced a setback in the Champions League playoffs, succumbing to Feyenoord, and then suffered a 2:1 defeat to Torino on the road.
The home team took an early lead in the 5th minute thanks to an own goal by Milan defender Malik Chau (the ball deflected off goalkeeper Mike Maignan). It was evident that the day would not favor the greats when, in the 33rd minute, Vanja Milinković-Savić denied Christian Pulisic with a penalty save.
Milan managed to equalize later in the match with a goal from Tijani Reynders, but rather than pressing for a win, they fell back into defeat.
Milan currently sits seventh in the league table with 41 points, trailing fourth-placed Lazio by six points, who recently finished their match against Venice in a goalless draw (Adam Marušić played the entire match).
