Boris Milošević has been appointed as the new president of the Serbian National Council (SNV), as decided by the delegates at the SNV Assembly held yesterday in Zagreb, Croatia’s capital.

“I will always remember the fundamental purpose for which the SNV was established, which is the advocacy for the realization of minority rights, ensuring that Serbs in Croatia feel like equal citizens. This means combating all forms of discrimination, particularly those based on ethnicity and religion,” stated Milošević, who has taken over this role from Milorad Pupovac, the MP and former president of the Independent Democratic Serbian Party after 28 years.

He pointed out that this is especially significant concerning the execution of language and script rights, alongside the fight against hate speech.

“We will only succeed in our pursuits if we remain as we have been—united, resolute, and true to ourselves, while actively promoting our own agenda for realizing minority rights,” added Milošević.

He expressed his gratitude to the outgoing president of the SNV and emphasized that Pupovac will still play a crucial role, as the SNV will benefit from his wisdom, life experience, and political knowledge.

Milošević previously served as the deputy president of the SNV, and Anja Šimpraga will take over his former position, while Dragana Jeckov will continue as deputy president.
