The Ministry of Diaspora is poised to support Montenegrin associations in Belgrade in their efforts to preserve Montenegrin culture, traditions, and customs, stated Minister Mirsad Azemović.

During his working visit to Serbia, he convened in Belgrade with representatives from various Montenegrin associations.

According to the Ministry’s announcement, Azemović engaged with representatives from the associations of Paštrovići, residents of Danilovgrad, Cetinje Belgrade, Grbljani Belgrade, and the Durmitor residents’ association in Belgrade.

Azemović expressed his delight at the opportunity to converse with distinguished members of these associations, emphasizing that the state of Montenegro fully supports its diaspora.

He pointed out that the establishment of the Ministry of Diaspora indicates the current Government’s commitment to enhancing collaboration with the diaspora.

“This is why I am here in Belgrade today—to talk with you. As the relevant ministry, we are prepared to assist in keeping alive Montenegrin culture, traditions, and customs, which are cherished by you all,” Azemović remarked.

He noted that his visit to the associations in Serbia signifies an invitation from the Ministry of Diaspora for collaboration.

“As the Minister of Diaspora, I will serve as the voice for our entire diaspora within the Government of Montenegro,” Azemović affirmed.

The meeting at the Embassy of Montenegro in Belgrade was also attended by Acting Secretary of the Ministry of Diaspora, Jasmin Lukačević, and Charge d’Affaires at the Embassy, Stanica Lola Popović.

Azemović stated that his visit to Belgrade is part of a broader plan to connect with associations, and he intends to organize meetings with and visit Montenegrin organizations in Novi Sad, Mali Iđoš, Kula, Vrbas, Sombor, and Subotica.
