Milan has made an attempt to secure Nikola Krstović’s signature for the upcoming season, offering 25 million euros. Additionally, reports suggest that Inter has entered the fray, indicating that it’s not just the stylish teams from Milan keeping tabs on him.
This insight comes from Stefano Trinkera, the sporting director of Lecce, who mentioned in an interview with Sky Sports that the southern Italian club must brace themselves for the possibility of losing their standout player, who also represents the Montenegrin national team, at the season’s end.
“His talent is still on the rise, and he possesses a wealth of potential. He is vital to our team. We admire his play, but I am confident that by season’s end, he will be primed for a major club,” Trinkera stated.
The importance of Krstović to Lecce this season is further highlighted by his involvement in over half of the club’s goals this season.
The former player of Zeta, Red Star, and Dunajska Streda has netted seven goals and assisted three, contributing to Lecce’s total of 18 goals in Serie A thus far.
Recent statistics from “Sofascore” revealed that no Serie A player has participated in more goals for their team, with only Mohamed Salah, who is showcasing his Ballon d’Or credentials this season, outperforming him in Europe.
Krstović has been instrumental in 55.5% of Lecce’s goals, while Salah’s contribution sits at 62.1%.
Lecce is aware that the likelihood of them parting ways with Krstović this summer is high, but for now, they aim to maximize the impact of the “falcon” striker to achieve their objectives this season.
