This is not a verdict against an individual, but a story about malfeasance in the constitutional order of BiH

This is not a judgment against a person, but a narrative of misconduct within the constitutional framework of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The President of the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, has stated that the recent ruling by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina is not a judgment against an individual, regardless of his identity. Instead, he described it as “a narrative of misconduct within the constitutional framework of BiH that is reaching its apex.”

Dodik faces allegations for endorsing presidential decrees that declared two laws of the RS unconstitutional, laws which had already been revoked by the High Representative of the International Community, Kristijan Šmit. These laws pertain to the non-enforcement of decisions from the Constitutional Court of BiH and the non-implementation of decisions issued by the High Representative regarding the territory of RS.

“Today marks a significant moment for Srpska, and I would assert that it is also significant for BiH. I believe the greatest loss will be felt by BiH,” Dodik commented, as reported by the RTRS portal.

He emphasized the importance of “Srpska demonstrating our consistency and dignity.”

“What weighs heavily on my mind is our people who have had to endure this injustice labeled as the Court and Prosecutor’s Office of BiH. It is crucial to have faith in our actions. Republika Srpska will remain dedicated to peace,” Dodik stated.

He commented that the President of the HJPC is “a serious figure, a man who, as a legal professional, accepted roles in unconstitutional entities, much like prosecutors and judges.”

“We are opposing their cynicism and arrogance, and their tendency to continue behaving in the same manner with the backing of international support. Clearly, that is not the actual situation,” Dodik mentioned.

He reiterated that RS will uphold its commitment to the Constitution of BiH.

“We are pleased with our constitutional position, as guaranteed by the Dayton Agreement, and we will not relinquish it. Christian Schmidt is a manipulator, and he is completely unwelcome in Republika Srpska,” Dodik declared.

He stressed that his struggle against the Court of BiH is not for personal gain.

“This fight is driven by the spirit of the people, and I fight on behalf of Republika Srpska,” he remarked.

A rally supporting Dodik was organized outside the National Assembly of Republika Srpska.
