Mornar is now in the past, as Buducnost Volija’s basketball team prepares for a significant challenge in the 15th round of the Eurocup. They will be facing Hapoel from Tel Aviv, one of the top contenders in the tournament, at Morač on Wednesday (19).
The recent match against Mornar provided an opportunity for coach Andrej Žakelj to allocate playing time and rest key players in anticipation of this crucial game. With four rounds remaining in the group stage, every Eurocup match holds considerable importance. Following the encounter with Hapoel, the “Blues” will face Ulm away, Juventud in Podgorica, and Wolves in Vilnius. The Wolves currently have more victories than the Montenegrin champions; they will host Besiktas in the next round.
Leading Hapoel is the European champion coach, Dimitris Itudis, and the court features talents like Patrick Beverley, Jonathan Motley, Ishmael Wainwright, and Bruno Cabocl…
“We are aware of the challenge that lies ahead. They play with high aggression, have changed their coach, and brought in Itudis along with three new additions. We recognize their ambitions, but we must also focus on our own goals,” stated Budućnosti player Alen Omić.
The “blue” center calls on fans to support the team at “Morača”.
“I encourage the fans to join us at ‘Morača’. Their presence makes a significant difference. We will strive to secure another Eurocup victory as it is vital for our playoff qualification. We aim to maintain our strong performance and hope for an exhilarating match at ‘Morača’,” Omić expressed.
