This year, the Municipality of Kolašin has decided to co-finance sports organizations, allocating a total of 80,000 euros to 16 different sports teams.

The Volleyball Club (OK) Gorštak received the largest share, totaling 9,830 euros. The football and futsal clubs under the same name were allocated 7,292 and 6,925 euros, respectively. Meanwhile, the Basketball Club (KK) Gorštak will benefit from municipal funding of around 6,770 euros, and the Basketball Club Kolašin will receive just over 6,000 euros. The Karate Club (KK) Gorštak is also set to receive a comparable amount. Additionally, the Basketball Club Tara Basket will get approximately 5,700 euros from the local budget, while the Table Tennis Club has been allocated 4,340 euros.

The Shooting Club (SK), Auto-Moto Sports Club (AMSK) Gorštak, Sports Fishing Club (SRK) Kolašin, Sports Chess Club (SŠK) An Pasan, Sports Fly Fishing Club (SRFFK) Maniro, Cycling Club (BK) Star Bike, and SRK Gorštak have been granted co-financing ranging from 4,100 to 2,128 euros.

Recently, several sports organizations mentioned while discussing the draft Strategy for the Development of Sports in Kolašin that the local government should increase its focus on this sector moving forward. Kolašin’s sports collectives emphasized that “the budget’s attention towards an area reflects how the community values or undervalues it.” They pointed out that from a municipal budget exceeding 10 million euros, less than one percent is earmarked for sports, which contrasts with budgets in other municipalities.

Several clubs have advocated for the co-financing allocations for sports organizations to be doubled, aiming to make sports and recreation more accessible to the residents of Kolašin and to enhance support for elite athletes while fostering coaching potential.

Out of the total 80,000 euros allocated this year, 30 percent has been distributed to eligible sports organizations. The remaining funds were apportioned so that 60 percent went to team sports, with the balance directed towards individual sports, evaluated according to the criteria outlined in the Regulation on Detailed Criteria for Co-financing of Sports Organizations.
