The document from the Police Directorate provided to the Council for Civilian Control of the Police does not include any information that is not already widely accessible to the public.

This was stated in a release by the Council for Civilian Control of Police Work in response to the document submitted by the Police Directorate concerning their actions before, during, and after the mass incident in Cetinje.

They further noted that the document in question “does not present any information beyond what is publicly available.”

The Council reported that on Saturday, February 15, Zoran Čelebić, the President of the Council, received a document at his home from the Police Directorate, which pertains to the circumstances surrounding the tragic event that occurred in Cetinje on January 1, marked as “Internal.”

“Should the ‘Internal’ designation remain unchanged, the Council believes that representatives from the non-governmental organizations Human Rights Action and the Women’s Rights Center should be invited to sign a confidentiality statement and be fully informed about the contents of this document.”

The Council reiterated its request for a written response from the Police Directorate regarding the complaint lodged by the non-governmental organizations Human Rights Action and the Women’s Rights Center, in accordance with the Law on Internal Affairs and the Rules of Procedure of the Council for Civilian Control of Police Work. This is necessary for the Council to carry out further proceedings based on the document and identify any potential shortcomings in the execution and application of police authority.
