During a joint inspection of the construction works on the road connecting the “Veruša” interchange with the Lopate settlement, Podgorica Mayor Saša Mujović highlighted the city’s significant shortcomings regarding road infrastructure, water supply, and issues with the power grid. This was announced by the Podgorica City Administration in collaboration with the Director of the Traffic Administration, Radomir Vuksanović.

Mujović pointed out the crucial nature of this project for the local community and regional development.

“We are here in Lijeva Rijeka, and it is genuinely uplifting to witness the intensive efforts underway. Local residents shared that since the Morača road was constructed, there has been minimal investment in this area. We face substantial shortcomings in road infrastructure, water supply, and challenges with the power network. Now, with the new administration, our commitment is to support and revitalize this area. We have significant challenges ahead, but we will remain resolute. This region deserves better, and we are determined to restore what is rightfully theirs,” stated Mujović.

Vuksanović also stressed the significance of this project, with an investment of approximately 11 million euros.

“The construction work on this road commenced in the fall, with Koding as the contractor, while Projektman oversees the project. This vital investment encompasses the building of a 3.1 km long road and an additional 1.5 km of access roads,” Vuksanović mentioned.

The City Administration confirmed that this development would greatly enhance the connection of this region with the rest of Montenegro and significantly improve the quality of life for all its residents.

“The capital will persist in investing in the development of regional roads and infrastructure, fostering better conditions for the continued growth and prosperity of all its areas,” they stated in a press release.
