Water polo athletes from Primorje displayed remarkable resilience against Jug, proving their character worthy of recognition, culminating in a second victory in the regional Premier League.

At the swimming pool in Budva, the players from Kotor triumphed over the giants with a score of 16:15, following a tied regular duration of 12:12. The standout performer was goalkeeper Franćesko Masaro.

Throughout the match, the Italian goalie successfully thwarted two shots from five meters, saved another in the penalty shootout, and benefited from a crossbar that supported Primorac, ending their streak of four consecutive losses in regional competitions and the Champions League.

Despite Jug’s consistent lead, which included a three-goal margin on two occasions, the latter moments of the game belonged to Vjekoslav Pasković’s team. Nika Shushiashvili’s goal secured a spot at the top with just 25 seconds left, scoring on a counterattack to bring the score to 12:12…

The Montenegrin champions thus claimed two points, with Dušan Matković emerging as the top scorer with three goals. Draško Brguljan, Savo Ćetković, and Šušijašvili each netted two goals, while Marko Mršić, Balša Vučković, and Nikola Brkić contributed one goal each.

Meanwhile, Jadran Mtel suffered their third consecutive defeat, marking their second loss in the regional elite.

In a thrilling match at their home pool in Škver, they fell to Jadran from Split with a score of 13:12.

The team from Split took charge in the latter half of the third quarter, and with under four minutes left, they held a 12:9 advantage. However, Vladimir Gojković’s squad fought back.

They narrowed the gap to 12:11 and secured a chance for a rebound 50 seconds before the end, with Danilo Radović converting a five-pointer to finalize the score…

Dmitrij Holod led the Adriatic scorers with four goals, while Jerko Marinić Kragić and Zvonimir Butić each found the net three times for the visitors.

Primorac and Jadran are now focused on their upcoming Champions League commitments—Sabadelj is set to visit Kotor on Wednesday, while Jadran will travel to Hungary to face Vaša on the same evening.

In the A1 league, Budva’s water polo team was defeated by Branik in Maribor with a score of 14:8.

The scorers for Budva included Todor Vukčević and Aleksa Popović with two goals each, while Stefan Kovačević, Jovan Radić, Matija Franeta, and Luka Dragović each contributed one goal.
