They Are Attempting to Oust Him from Politics

Today, Croatian President Zoran Milanović remarked that Milorad Dodik, the President of Republika Srpska, is being targeted for removal from politics due to his “defiance against the directives of the colonial administrator.”

Milanović stated, “Dodik is highly regarded among Serbs in Bosnia and Herzegovina; any attempts to obstruct him will only bolster his support,” as reported by Croatian Radio and Television (HRT) ahead of a verdict announcement for Dodik scheduled for Wednesday. He criticized this approach as reflective of a “flawed European method.”

“He isn’t demonstrating violence in an appropriate manner. If one must resort to violence, it should be decisive. What’s occurring is manipulation, a covert operation to oust a democratically elected representative of the Serbian population for not complying with the directives of a long-retired German politician. What century are we living in?” Milanović questioned.

According to Milanović, such actions will not intimidate the Serbs; instead, they will incite anger. He clarified that he is not defending Dodik, but warned that a similar fate could await Croats in the future. He advocated for equal rights within Bosnia and Herzegovina, asserting that Croats should have the ability to elect their representatives in the BiH presidency.

“As for the Serbs, they aren’t likely to easily separate from Bosnia and Herzegovina. However, such actions are providing assistance in that direction,” the Croatian president remarked. He emphasized the need for establishing common ground with the Serbs.

“We need to recognize that even the Serbs, who often act defensively as if they are under threat, must work towards a shared understanding and agreement. It is not productive to resort to threats against a third party, a tactic that some figures from Sarajevo repeatedly suggest—claiming we desire to dismantle Bosnia and Herzegovina. We do not; we have no such interest in your affairs,” Milanović concluded.
