“Džaković’s Unstoppable Performance in Azerbaijan, Đurović’s Dominance in Portugal, and Dragović Named to Ideal Team of the Round”

The Montenegrin volleyball players continue to shine on the international scene, achieving impressive results in various leagues throughout Europe.

In Azerbaijan, our representative Danijela Džaković remains unstoppable. With an impressive total of 20 points, she led her team, Mili Aviasia Akademiasi, to a 3:1 victory against VC Gence (25:14, 25:16, 23:25, 25:17).

Middle blocker Saška Đurović is excelling in Portugal, thriving in a position she is notably comfortable with this season. In the 21st round of the local league, Đurović showcased her skill against Porto by amassing 14 points and achieving a remarkable 65% success rate in attacks. Additionally, Sporting triumphed over Porto in a Cup match with a scoreline of 3:1, maintaining their position at the top of the standings.

In Romania, Mina Dragović made her mark this round, earning a spot in the ideal lineup after an outstanding performance. Contributing to Lugoš’s away victory over Targoviste (25:17, 31:29, 25:22), Dragović secured 13 points and had a 55% success rate in attacks.

The stellar performances of the middle blockers continued with Katarina Budrak, who notched up 10 points, playing a crucial role in Bordeaux’s away victory against Venel in a five-set thriller, winning 3:2 (20:25, 25:17, 28:26, 21:25, 20:18) during the 22nd round of the French league.

Nikoleta Perović concluded her season in Turkey with Ted Kolejliler, which unfortunately did not qualify for the playoffs after a defeat to PTT Sport Club (3:0) (25:22, 25:23, 25:21). Perović contributed 11 points in her final match.

Meanwhile, in Slovenia, international Nevena Vukčević scored 10 points for GEN-I Volley, though her team fell short against Kalcit at home, losing 3:1 (25:17, 15:25, 25:12, 25:14).

The Serbian Super League’s 18th round saw coach Jovo Caković’s team, Jedinstvo Stara Pazova, claim their second successive convincing victory, this time over Inđija (25:11, 25:6, 25:19), with Montenegrin middle blocker Staša Mitrović contributing 4 points.

In another Serbian Super League match, Darja Popović entered the game in the second set but could not prevent her team Omladinac from losing to Partizan 3:1 (25:20, 25:20, 16:25, 25:20).

Coach Marija Šušić’s Szent Benedek team is currently competing in the quarter-finals of the Hungarian championship play-offs against Békéscsaba. After losing the initial match last week, Šušić and her team were defeated in the following two matches as well, concluding their season. In the home match, Marija scored five points, but her team lost 3:0 (25:18, 25:13, 25:14), and in the away match, she recorded one point as they lost 3:0 (25:17, 25:9, 25:17).

Server Simona Petranović was absent in the 14th round of the Croatian Super League, where her Mladost team secured an away victory against Osijek (3:0) (25:23, 25:23, 25:14).

Teodora Rakočević contributed three points in Banja Luka’s loss to Borac, who secured a maximum victory in the 17th round of the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
