Milosava Paunović from the Socialist People’s Party (SNP) and Božo Premović from the Democrats have been appointed as the new vice presidents of the Berane municipality.

Their election took place during today’s Municipal Assembly session.

Paunović informed “Vijesti” that she received 23 votes from councilors, while Premović secured 22.

She noted that not all local parliamentarians were present; however, the coalitions of the SNP and Europe Now Movement (PES), For the Future of Montenegro (which includes New Serbian Democracy, Democratic People’s Party, United Montenegro, and True Montenegro), along with the Democrats and members of the Bosniak Party supported both appointments.

Premović has been serving as the municipality’s mayor since the implementation of the compulsory administration.

Prior to this, Vida Ivanović from New Serbian Democracy was elected as the local parliament head, with Đole Lutovac (PES) becoming the mayor.

In the local elections held on December 8, the “Berane in First Place, PES-SNP” list garnered 4,529 votes, securing 12 mandates, while the “For the Future of Berane” list received 2,963 votes, resulting in eight mandates.

The Democratic Party of Socialists’ list “For Berane! With both heart and knowledge! Dr. Miro Nedić” obtained 1,916 votes, translating to five mandates, while the “Democrats – ‘We preserve our roots, we build Berane’ Božo Premović” list earned one less with 1,702 votes.

The “City of Equal Chances – Bosniak Party – Ervin Ibahimović” was backed by 826 citizens, resulting in two mandates, the same as the Civic Movement “Because I Love Berane,” which received 872 votes.

The “Vladislav Dajković – Berane can do better” list, with 428 votes, will have one councilor in the Berane parliament.

Lists from the European Union, Citizens’ Group “We Live for Youth – Milanko Šćekić,” and the Justice and Reconciliation Party (SPP) did not meet the census requirements.
