The President of Republika Srpska (RS), Milorad Dodik, stated today in Banja Luka that he dismisses any likelihood of conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

“We do not wish to witness that, and there are no preparations underway,” Dodik informed reporters, emphasizing that RS is merely advocating a return to the BiH Constitution.

He remarked that the existing BiH configuration is “unconstitutional,” which is why Serbs are reluctant to reside within it.

“BiH, which operates outside the Constitution, is not our nation… This is a principled stance, but if such practices persist, then RS has no reason to remain in that type of BiH. We advocate for peace and stability, which requires us to adhere to the language of the Constitution,” Dodik asserted.

He reiterated that the foremost objective of RS leaders is the BiH Constitution.

“If we evaluate the situation in the next six months to a year and there’s no advancement, RS holds the right to make independent choices,” Dodik stated.

He refuted claims by international representatives in BiH that they are fostering the notion of an “emergency,” clarifying that the only emergency in BiH is the legal actions against him and acting RS official Miloš Lukić, which he claims are “not conducted lawfully” in the Court of BiH.

“There is no legal basis in BiH that justifies bringing Lukić and I to trial. When they recognize the will of the people, attempts are made to manufacture a narrative of an emergency situation. Nothing is urgent aside from their actions,” Dodik remarked.

He assured everyone in BiH, particularly the public in the Federation of BiH, that they “need not be concerned or trust their politicians to undertake their initiatives, as no actions will ever be enacted.”

He once again criticized the High Representative in BiH, Christian Schmidt, implying he could be arrested for entering RS territory.

Dodik expressed his anticipation of a guilty verdict tomorrow from the Court of BiH, suggesting that it “will not just be a verdict against Dodik, but against the President of RS who issued the decree.”

“I performed that act as an elected official. They aim to portray me as solely accountable. Their subsequent target is (state) property,” Dodik remarked.

The Court of BiH is set to announce its first-instance verdict regarding Dodik and Lukić tomorrow for not implementing Schmidt’s decisions.
