Arsenal plans to approach the Premier League for permission to let 15-year-old Max Dauman make his debut on the grand stage.
According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners intend to seek approval to promote Dauman, an attacking midfielder, from their academy.
At just 15 years old, Dauman is currently ineligible to compete in the Premier League based on existing regulations. Nevertheless, the club’s current personnel challenges are prompting them to explore possible reinforcements.
Kai Havertz has been ruled out for the remainder of the season, and players such as Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Gabriel Jesus are also dealing with injuries.
While Dauman is not a striker, he specializes as an attacking midfielder, and his coach at Arsenal’s academy, Gustavo Oliveira, has drawn comparisons to “Kaka.”
Based on various highlights shared on social media, this comparison holds weight, as Dauman indeed showcases similarities to the former Ballon d’Or winner and Brazilian national team sensation.
Due to league restrictions, Dauman will have to wait until he turns 16 to play in the Premier League; however, Arsenal is requesting leniency given their injury woes.
