The new city administration is prioritizing the construction of a kindergarten in the Golubovina area and an elementary school in Bečići.
These topics were central to a meeting held today by Mayor Nikola Jovanović with representatives from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Innovation (MESI), focused on addressing the infrastructure challenges of educational institutions within Budva Municipality.
According to an announcement from Jovanović’s office, the meeting included key figures such as Vesna Krivokapić, Head of the Office for the Implementation of Infrastructure Projects; Spasoje Ostojić, Head of the Investment Service; Jelena Lazić, Chief City Architect of Budva; Joko Popović, Acting Secretary of the Secretariat for Investments; and Marko Asanović, an employee of the Investments Secretariat.
“Discussion points included the construction of a new kindergarten in Golubovina, as planned in the current DUP ‘Dubovica’, and the new school in Bečići, as outlined in the draft Spatial and Urban Plan for Budva. Additionally, the reconstruction and expansion of existing educational facilities were considered. The Municipality’s ongoing infrastructure projects in the education sector were reviewed, including the amphitheater at ‘Danilo Kiš’ Secondary School, as well as the playground and parking at ‘Stefan Mitrov Ljubiša’ Primary School,” stated the Municipality.
It was also noted that there should be a quicker and more effective collaboration among all relevant institutions to ensure timely project execution and to provide suitable working and learning environments for both educators and students.
All meeting participants agreed on the significance of enhancing educational infrastructure as a key priority and expressed their collective commitment to advancing the education system and accelerating the implementation of the discussed projects,” the statement concluded.
