Nikšić Transformed into a Playground for a Few Votes and Seats

Nikšić is being stifled by the irresponsibility, arrogance, and political corruption of its local government! After numerous failures, scandals, and fraudulent activities, following the influx of unqualified party affiliates wielding fake diplomas, they have chosen to harm us directly—by constructing a facility for processing animal by-products in a residential area, stated Vojislav Gluščević from the Party of European Progress (SEP).

He questions whether they are so entrenched in ignorance and greed that they fail to comprehend the detrimental impact this will have on public health, asserting that the people of Nikšić will not sit idly by while their city, air, land, and water are compromised.

This transcends politics—this is a matter of survival, Gluščević emphasized.

“If we allow them to convert our home into Montenegro’s waste dump, they will inevitably bring us radioactive waste tomorrow if someone is willing to pay! Or simply in exchange for a few votes in the elections and a handful of seats in local government,” he proclaimed in a statement to the media.

Gluščević suspects that there are dubious arrangements behind this initiative, not genuine concern for the populace.

“Who has decreed that Nikšić should be designated as a dump? Who is pocketing commissions while our children breathe toxins? The local government, blindly obeying directives from above, devoid of morality or conscience, is advancing this project against the wishes of the citizens.

“This is not the first occasion the local administration of Nikšić, backed by the Government, has acted in opposition to the interests of their city! Have they forgotten how they improperly disposed of animal waste during the Q fever outbreak, showing no regard for public health? How they recklessly stored hazardous materials in Nikšić and turned the Steel Plant into a regional waste site? How they discharged untreated sewage directly into the Zeta River, contaminating our water and natural surroundings? Now they are aiming for yet another environmental catastrophe—we will not let them succeed,” he declared.

The SEP member urged Nikšić’s residents to resist allowing incompetence and malicious motives to jeopardize their health. He called on all citizens, irrespective of political views, to stand against this injustice.

“Nikšić is not a landfill, nor should it ever become one; we will not permit them to ruin us for the sake of someone’s underhanded dealings! The Party of European Progress firmly backs all civic initiatives focused on environmental preservation and public health. Our aim is to achieve sustainable and effective solutions to all issues troubling citizens through full collaboration with them. The people of Nikšić deserve a clean and healthy environment, not ecological hazards that threaten future generations! Do not allow them to strip you of your right to health and a dignified life! The Party of European Progress—together with the citizens, against the poisoning of Nikšić,” concluded Gluščević.
