The final round of the AdmiralBet ABA League is set to take place tomorrow (17) in Bar, where Mornar will be facing Crvena zvezda.
The Bar team is in a battle for survival, having secured only one victory thus far, and coach Mihailo Pavićević stated that given the context of this match, any hopeful expectations are unrealistic.
“Preparing for this match has never been easier compared to previous years. We look back at those times with nostalgia, where we entered the matches not necessarily on equal footing, but with a better chance of success. What can I say? We’re up against a team that’s a serious contender for the Euroleague’s F4. The statistics speak volumes,” remarked Pavićević.
Crvena zvezda currently holds a record of 13-3 in the regional league.
“This team is composed of elite players, under the guidance of a top-notch coach. They are performing exceptionally well, and I cannot hide my excitement about their Euroleague play. Our only hope lies in the possibility of fatigue, which is a natural consequence of the demanding schedule Red Star has, especially after a double round. We need them not to be at full strength for us to appear more level in this matchup. Realistically, however, having optimistic expectations regarding the outcome is illusory,” Pavićević clearly stated.
The Mariners’ coach is looking forward to a packed arena.
“I hope to see a full house, creating another spectacular event for our city, as has always been the case when Red Star and Partizan visit. It’s all for the fans who come to enjoy outstanding basketball and a fantastic atmosphere,” concluded the seasoned coach.
