The Deputy Prime Minister of Croatia and Minister of the Interior, Davor Božinović, announced that Croatia will unwaveringly support Croats in Montenegro.

According to Radio Dux, Adrijan Vuksanović, the president of the Croatian Civic Initiative and a member of the Montenegrin Parliament, met with Božinović today. The meeting took place during Božinović’s visit to Montenegro for the Outdoor Celebration of St. Tryphon, the patron saint of the Diocese of Kotor and Kotor.

Vuksanović expressed his happiness at reconnecting with the Deputy Prime Minister after a relatively brief interval and thanked Božinović for his ongoing support for Croats in Montenegro. He emphasized the significance of Croatia’s presence in Montenegro to the Croatian community and reminded Božinović of the achievements of the Croatian Civic Initiative, which actively advocates for minority rights and strives for Montenegro’s European integration. He acknowledged the substantial assistance provided by the Republic of Croatia and its institutions in these endeavors.

Božinović responded by affirming that the Republic of Croatia will continue to steadfastly support Croats in Montenegro, highlighting the importance of the survival of the Croatian community to his Government.

He expressed his satisfaction with the past successes of this small yet politically and culturally significant community. The two leaders also engaged in discussions regarding the situation in Montenegro and the ongoing integration process, as stated by Radio Dux.
