The international training camp for female boxers held in Budva has attracted a remarkable gathering of Olympic and world champions, alongside athletes from five nations known for their successes in major competitions, as reported by the Boxing Federation.

Participants from Turkey, Morocco, Afghanistan, Serbia, and Montenegro are currently training at the Splendid Hotel in Bečići, with activities scheduled to continue until March 5th.

According to reports, the camp aims to facilitate the sharing of significant international experiences, with a primary focus on preparing the boxers for the upcoming IBA World Senior Women’s Championship, which will take place in Niš from March 8th to 17th.

Montenegro’s coach, Nikola Ružić, expressed confidence in the optimal training conditions available at the Splendid Hotel, highlighting the quality of the training area, nutrition, and other essential supportive elements that contribute to rigorous preparation.

“With Olympic, world, and continental champions partaking in the camp, it is clear how beneficial this experience will be for all participants. Our athlete, Bojana Gojković, is fully engaged in the process, and I believe this will significantly enhance her performance. I extend my gratitude to the presidents of BSCG and BSS, Aleksandar Klemenko and Nenad Borovčanin, for securing such excellent working conditions,” stated Ružić.

The total prize pool for the IBA Women’s Boxing World Championship in Niš is set at 2.5 million USD.

The champion will receive 100,000 USD, the runner-up will take home 50,000 USD, while each bronze medalist will be awarded 25,000 USD.

Serbian coach Mirko Ždralo reminisced fondly about their past successes in Budva, where they earned significant European medals.

“The camp’s quality was further enhanced by the participation of exceptional national teams from Morocco and Turkey, which include Olympic and world champions. This collaboration will play a crucial role in our athletes’ preparations,” remarked Ždralo.

The international camp is organized by the Boxing Federations of Serbia and Montenegro.
