The Serbian handball team is aiming for the same goal as their Montenegrin counterparts ahead of tomorrow’s match (20:30) in Debrecen – to kick off the European Championship with a victory.
Coach Uroš Bregar is familiar with the Montenegrin squad and highlights the significance of having experienced players Milena Raičević and Đurđina Jauković back in the lineup.
“Their return poses a greater challenge for us due to their experience. Nonetheless, we plan to implement some tactical adjustments to catch them off guard,” Bregar stated.
It’s sure to be a fierce contest in Debrecen.
“We have an intense match ahead, and starting the European Championship with a win would be ideal. We are well aware of Montenegro’s capabilities, but that doesn’t mean we are taking them lightly. In our two qualifying encounters, we lost by just a single goal, and I hope this time we can perform even better and enjoy a bit more luck,” expressed the Slovenian coach.
Captain Jovana Risović has a clear expectation:
“A stronger defense and minimizing our technical mistakes will determine the outcome,” remarked the Serbian goalkeeper.
