The Lovćen handball team faced a defeat against AEK in Marussia during their first match of the third round of the EHF European Cup, ending with a score of 45:26 (22:11).

The upcoming rematch, scheduled for tomorrow at 17:30 in the same hall in the suburbs of Athens, Marussia, is anticipated to be merely a formality following the results observed in today’s game.

Lovćen held on until the score reached 6:5, thanks to a goal from Đorđe Peruničić. However, the Greek team then created a decisive gap with a 5:0 scoring run, leading to an easy victory.

Peruničić and Mirko Radović stood out for Lovćen, each scoring six goals. Miodrag Stanojević added five, while Aleksa Perišić contributed three. Filip Racković and Danilo Pajović scored two goals apiece, and both Petar Radoičić and Božo Brnović found the net once.

On the home side, Gilberto Duarte Brito and Alexandros Koukulas each scored six goals, with Eric Schmidt contributing five.

Earlier in the tournament, Lovćen successfully eliminated Azerbaijan’s Baki in the second round, winning both matches comfortably in Cetinje.
