A total of 335,747 euros was raised to support the treatment of young Mija Popović, who is battling a malignant pelvic bone tumor.

This information was shared by Marijan Mašić, the president of the Parents’ Council at the “Dr Dragiša Ivanović” Elementary School in Podgorica, which hosted the donor event.

The event saw attendance from citizens along with President Jakov Milatović, Mayor Saša Mujović, and Deputy Mayor Nađa Ljiljanić.

Mia sent a heartfelt video message to the audience, expressing her gratitude for the overwhelming support.

“My heart is filled with joy seeing that all of Montenegro has come together to fight against Miroslav. I am confident we will prevail. Sending you all hugs and love from Belgrade,” Mia stated.

Milatović expressed his appreciation to the Parents’ Council and the school leadership for organizing the event, as well as to everyone who contributed, providing invaluable support to Mija.

“Together with her family and friends, we want Mia to know she has our unwavering support. Her smile is backed by all of us, and as a community, we will do everything to brighten her future. Dear Mia, we’re looking forward to welcoming you back once you conquer this illness,” Milatović emphasized, according to Media Biro.

Mašić highlighted that this initiative has unified Montenegro and part of the region.

“Let this evening serve as an example of how little it takes to set aside our differences, come together, and breathe as one. In total, 335,747 euros was raised for Mia,” he commented.

Mia’s brother, Nemanja Popović, conveyed that the evening was not merely about discussing illness but rather celebrating victory.

“Tonight, we are here to celebrate life, not sufferings, as we anticipate Mia’s triumph over Miroslav. Once we successfully defeat Miroslav and Mia fully recovers, any remaining funds will be allocated where they are most needed,” he asserted.
