Jedinstvo and Mornar Compete for Third Place in Bijelo Polje

The matches of the 14th round will wrap up the league competition in the EPCG Volleyball Super League. In this final round, the battle for third place will take center stage, with Mornar and Jedinstvo set to compete in a direct showdown next week.

The round kicks off with a matchup between the bottom two teams on the table, as Lovćen faces Galeb in search of their first set of the season. This match will take place at SC “Cetinje” on Wednesday, February 12, starting at 14 p.m. The outcome is inconsequential to the standings, as Galeb has secured a safe sixth place, thanks to their recent victory over Cetinje, totaling five sets won and four points.

The clash between Sutjeska and Buducnost is scheduled for 18 p.m., featuring two teams that are already aware of their final rankings ahead of the last game. The fifth-placed Nikšić team will compete against the fourth-placed team in the play-in, while Buducnost awaits the winner of that matchup, having already claimed victory in their first encounter 3:0. This second match of the 14th round will take place at SC “Nikšić.”

The round will conclude seven days later, due to scheduling conflicts with SC “Nikoljac” in Bijelo Polje, as it will host the final tournament of the Montenegrin Basketball Cup. Therefore, Jedinstvo and Mornar will finalize the contest for third place on February 19th, with the winner avoiding a matchup against the dominant team from Budva.

Barani has achieved seven wins, one more than Jedinstvo, having defeated them 3:2 at home, which sets the stage for an exciting volleyball match in Bijelo Polje. This victory marks the difference in their current standings. Jedinstvo requires a minimum of four wins to secure third place, while Mornar will clinch the position with just two sets in “Nikoljac.”

The Budva volleyball team has completed the season with a perfect record of 12 victories and is gearing up for the semi-finals of the playoffs scheduled for March 19th.

Two play-in matches are set to take place at the end of February and the start of March, with the semi-final games being held in the final two weeks leading up to that.
