Members of the Special Police Department (SPO) have detained Faris Ćorović, Boban Milić, and Dušan Stefanović, a criminal police inspector at the Berane Security Center (CB).
Their detainment was conducted under the direction of the Special State Prosecutor’s Office (SDT), with suspicions of money laundering and the formation of a criminal organization.
Detentions occurred in Podgorica and Berane, accompanied by searches of multiple properties.
According to reports from the Berane police, Stefanović was taken into custody inside the Central Bank building in Berane.
Vukas Radonjić, the special prosecutor and spokesperson for the SDT, informed “Vijesti” that three individuals have been arrested.
“Searches are ongoing in the apartments and other locations they frequent to potentially gather more evidence related to the crimes they are accused of. To preserve the integrity of the investigation, I cannot disclose further details,” Radonjić stated.
The individuals face charges including forming a criminal organization, bribery acceptance, abuse of official position, and money laundering.
Boban Milić, arrested today at the instruction of the SDT, was previously detained in early June 2022 in Belgrade on suspicions related to a criminal organization that had plotted the murder of the late Milić Minja Šaković during 2020 and early 2021.
He was extradited to Montenegro on August 18, 2022, and spent some time in the Supka Remand Prison.
Milić is believed to have joined a six-member criminal group toward the end of 2020, which was implicated in various serious crimes, reportedly planning to murder Milić Minja Šaković in Podgorica. This plan was ultimately thwarted by the police; Milić Šaković was killed on June 17, 2022, in Budva.
