Once again, Nikšić’s Freedom Square embraced the vibrant spirit of Herceg Novi this February. The lively atmosphere, complete with music, majorettes, trombone players, clowns, and of course, the beloved mimosa, drew in a crowd of all ages to witness the 56th Mimosa Festival Caravan parade.

Between 2003 and 2023, the Mimosa Caravan parade was absent from the town beneath Trebjes.

“The cooperation protocol we signed in 2022 included a key condition: to reintroduce mimosa to Nikšić. We have successfully accomplished that, and I am truly delighted. For over three years, our community has been able to experience, if only for a few hours, the delightful scent of mimosa and the Mediterranean vibe that our friends from Herceg Novi bring us,” stated Mitar Barać, director of the Nikšić Tourist Organization, which is the event’s organizer.

The parade commenced at the main roundabout, proceeding down Njegoševa Street to Freedom Square, where attendees were treated to performances by the Caravan participants.

“Overall, the partnership between the local government and tourist organizations in Nikšić and Herceg Novi is exemplary. I am confident this will continue, ensuring that we will not face another two decades without mimosas in Nikšić,” remarked Barać.
