Jadran Gear Up for Zvezda Showdown; Primorac Takes on Šabac

As the countdown to the first trophy of the season begins, the water polo squads of Jadran Mtela and Primorac prepare for a preview of their upcoming Cup of Montenegro final clash, set for next weekend, during the regional Premier League matches.

Novljan boasts four victories after seven rounds, and in the upcoming 8th round, they will face Crvena zvezda (Saturday, 19:XNUMX) at Škver, a team that has struggled to secure wins in the regional league thus far.

While Zvezda has notable quality, Jadran knows it carries the favorite’s mantle and is determined to live up to that expectation.

“We’re confident favorites and I urge our fans to rally behind us. Zvezda has an edge due to their two top centers, but if we can neutralize them, I believe victory will be ours,” stated Danilo Radović.

Mid-week, Jadran faced a tough loss against Barceloneta in Catalonia, which mathematically eliminated their chances of progressing to the quarterfinals of the Liger Champions. Instead, they will continue their European journey in the knockout stages of the Eurocup.

Primorac is also heading into the Eurocup after enduring their fifth loss in five elite contests in Savona, seeking to enhance their performance before the Cup final against Šabac at their home pool (Saturday, 21).

“A crucial match against Šabac awaits us, a highly skilled team eager for victory. However, it is up to us; I am confident we will all give our utmost and remain focused. A win would mean a great deal to us,” remarked Balša Vučković.

The reigning Montenegrin champions have secured two victories this season – against Primorje and Jug (out of five) in the regional Premier League.
