The Serbian government has declared that an extraordinary session will take place tonight at 19:00 at the Palace of Serbia.

Pro-government outlets in the country report that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić is expected to be present at the session, where discussions will revolve around the possibility of new elections or the appointment of a new Prime Minister and Government of Serbia.

In addition, media sources indicate that Vučić plans to address the citizens of Serbia at 20:00.

Earlier today, Serbian Prime Minister Miloš Vučević announced his irrevocable resignation from his position, a decision he reached following the events in Novi Sad last night involving student assaults.

The mayor of Novi Sad, Milan Đurić, has also resigned from his post.
