Slovakia is poised to assist Montenegro in various capacities throughout its European Union (EU) integration process, particularly regarding eGovernment initiatives and the digital transformation of public administration, stated Slovak Ambassador to Podgorica, Boris Gandel.

Today’s meeting between Minister of Public Administration (MPA) Maraš Dukaj and Gandel was announced by the Ministry of Public Administration.

Both parties expressed their hopes for ongoing collaboration between Montenegro and Slovakia through joint programs, projects, and the sharing of experiences and successful practices in public administration reform.

“Gandel indicated that Slovakia is prepared to extend support on all fronts during Montenegro’s EU integration journey, particularly in eGovernment advancement and the modernization of public administration,” the statement read.

He also noted that the enhancement of public administration—especially in electronic governance—and the boost in efficiency and effectiveness are crucial for facilitating other reforms.

Dukaj expressed his gratitude for Slovakia’s support toward Montenegro and highlighted the long-standing good and friendly relations between the two nations.

He mentioned opportunities for strengthening cooperation in the areas of public administration reform and digitalization.

Dukaj shared insights with Gandel regarding the goals, priorities, and important projects of the MPA related to public administration reform and digitalization.

According to Dukaj, reforming public administration, the push for digitalization, and enhancing cybersecurity are interconnected processes critical for the effective operation of the state.

He emphasized the recognition of digital transformation’s significance and the commitment to advancing and fully incorporating this initiative.

“In this regard, our aim is to digitalize all operational and social processes through the development of a modern and efficient administration to achieve our ultimate objectives,” Dukaj articulated.

He stressed that only a competent public administration capable of delivering quality services to both citizens and the economy can fulfill the essential criteria and capacities required for EU accession.
