The remains of the temporary catering facility at “Galeb” beach in Podgorica cannot be removed at the moment due to the elevated water levels of the Morača River; however, authorities plan to do so as soon as conditions permit.
This information was provided by municipal inspector Vladimir Krackovic to “Vijesti” following complaints from locals regarding the state of the Podgorica beach, which previously hosted a beach bar during summer, leaving only its ruins behind now.
Krackovic noted that this was a temporary structure—a catering terrace situated on cadastral plot 4312/1 KOPg II, leased by “Na Moraču” LLC.
“The Directorate for Inspection Affairs of the Capital City of Podgorica has informed the supervising entity, doo ‘Na Moraču’, the owner of the temporary structure currently located near the Suspension Bridge, that they must remove it from the beach as soon as possible in accordance with the Decision on Communal Order (‘Official Gazette of Montenegro – Municipal Regulations’, No. 007/21 of 26 March 3),” they conveyed in their response to “Vijesti.”
They clarified that a portion of the temporary structure—the open bar—and some equipment were taken away by the investor back in November of last year.
“Furthermore, the removal of the steel framework of the restaurant terrace has commenced. This structure was damaged in early October due to adverse weather conditions and a significant rise in river levels and remains on-site. Given the size and weight of this facility, the removal process is challenging during the winter months due to the increased water level, making physical access difficult. It will be removed as soon as suitable conditions are established,” Krackovic stated.
