The semi-final matches of the Montenegro Cup water polo tournament will take place tomorrow in Nikšić.

The first semi-final will feature Jadran and Budućnost on Friday at 17:30, followed by the Kotor derby where Primorac will compete against Kataro two hours later.

Vasilije Radović, representing Jadran m:tela, expressed his hopes for a final showdown with the Primorje team.

“We realistically look forward to a final against Primorje. We are familiar with them, and I’m confident a single goal will determine the outcome. However, I believe we can defend our title,” stated Radović.

Matija Brguljan, a newcomer to the Budućnost squad, emphasized the importance of focus, motivation, and commitment from the Podgorica water polo players.

“Our team is quite young, with an average age of just 19. Matches like this are crucial for us to gain experience that we can use in future competitions against teams of similar caliber,” Brguljan explained.

Experienced player Draško Brguljan acknowledged that Primorac and Jadran are stronger than their competitors but highlighted the need to prove it during the games.

“Kataro is on a winning streak, featuring seasoned athletes who understand water polo well, as well as talented young players and an excellent goalkeeper. We will not take them lightly, despite expectations for a final against Jadran. If we reach that point, I believe the atmosphere will be electric, and it will be a spectacular match,” shared Brguljan, a part of the golden generation of Primorje and Montenegrin water polo.

Dušan Milaš from Kataro reminded that his team has achieved six consecutive wins, underscoring its significance for a young squad.

“Continuing this streak will be challenging, but we won’t back down easily. We’ll play with all our might and see how far that takes us,” Milaš stated.

Jadran, the defending champion, won last year’s final against Primorac from Kotor with a score of 15:10 (5:3, 3:3, 4:2, and 3:2), marking the club’s 14th triumph in the Montenegro Cup.
