Minister of Police CG Responds to Resignation with Remarks from His Father – News

Danilo Šaranović, the Minister of Police of Montenegro, responded to his father Slavko’s call for resignation following a horrific massacre in Cetinje that claimed the lives of 12 individuals, including two children. Šaranović stated that no one in his family has been in contact with his father and condemned the former family member for exploiting the tragedy for his own political advantage.

“When all political ambitions and cheap tactics emerge, the situation of a single family is manipulated for the most self-serving political motives. No other family members wish to have contact, and this is merely a human and criminal disgrace,” wrote Danilo Šaranović on his Facebook profile.

Only my sister, my mother, and I truly understand what we have endured, but I refuse to position myself as a victim. It doesn’t suit me. This ordeal has clarified the nature of the environment we inhabit. I have come to recognize that there’s a gravity that seems endless. These are vital life lessons, additional sources of motivation and strength to move forward, and one must just keep going. Any honor,” said Šaranović.

It is important to note that Šaranović’s father, Slavko, has called on his son twice to resign from the position of Minister of Police and revert to the way his ancestors lived. This resignation call came in the wake of the violent incident in Cetinje, which devastated the community. The motive behind this crime, committed by Aco Martinović, remains unclear; however, it is known that Martinović engaged in a confrontation with another individual in the “Velvet” café on January 1. Previously, Martinović had visited the same café with friends.

Lazar Šćepanović, the director of the Management Board of Montenegro, revealed during a TV news visit last night that the café’s security cameras recorded events as the massacre unfolded.

“I mentioned that there was a verbal incident between Martinović and a person who was killed in the bar. The individuals present were engaged in a regular celebration with music, enjoying the atmosphere. In the footage, Aco Martinović can be seen in a completely natural setting with another person. That environment escalated into a trigger,” said Šćepanović.

At a certain point, Aco Martinović exited the café but later returned with deadly intent. By the time the police received the first call, Martinović had already claimed the lives of four individuals and injured three others.

After leaving the café, Martinović went to the home of the deceased and declared, “Kuma killed you my brother, I will kill you too,” before shooting him and also firing at his wife, who likely tried to intervene. Afterward, he proceeded to the home of Martinović’s parents, where he killed both his father and mother.

In the end, he went to the house of a friend, where he killed the friend’s wife when she opened the door.
