Last night, at least five individuals connected to the Cetinje and Nikšić cells of the Kavač clan were apprehended during an operation conducted by the Police Directorate.

As reported by “Vijesti,” the suspects were detained in Pljevlja.

The operation involved officers from the Crime Prevention Sector as well as the “West” Regional Police Center.

The arrested individuals include Ilija Racanović (35) from Budva, Aleksandar Đurđevac (28) from Nikšić, Željko Moštrokol (33), Luka Gazivoda (37), and Igor Mašanović (32), all from Cetinje. They face allegations of unauthorized possession of weapons and explosives, a charge that carries a prison term of two to ten years.

“A personal and vehicle search led to the recovery of two ‘Glock’ pistols and a ‘Česka zbrojevka’ pistol, both with their serial numbers obliterated, a significant amount of ammunition, and other materials intended for criminal activities. Alongside the firearms and ammunition, authorities also seized two passenger vehicles. Available intelligence suggests that these actions by the Police Directorate may have disrupted or prevented a serious criminal offense,” stated the Police Directorate.

It was further noted that MI and Đ.A. are currently under curfew. The police also reported that they had previously informed the Higher Court in Podgorica several times about curfew infractions involving MI and Đ.A.

“The Police Directorate will persist in executing proactive, preventative, and repressive measures against these individuals and the organizations they represent in the upcoming period, aiming to thwart their detrimental activities and effects on public safety,” the police statement declared.
