The police in Danilovgrad have apprehended two Pakistani nationals on suspicion of kidnapping five Indian citizens.

According to the Police Directorate’s announcement, the suspects held the Indians captive in a residence in Podgorica for three days, demanding ransom.

During a search of the two Pakistani individuals, identified as RT and AZ, authorities discovered a small PVC packet containing a substance believed to be marijuana. AZ will face a misdemeanor charge related to this matter.

“Following consultations with the Basic State Prosecutor in Podgorica, RT and AZ were taken into custody under suspicion of committing the crime of kidnapping, allegedly employing physical force and threats involving weapons to illegal detain five Indian citizens in a Podgorica home for three days, during which they demanded money from them. After receiving the requested payment, they coerced the victims into illegally crossing the Montenegrin state border,” the police statement read.
