Grlić Radman: Resolution on Jasenovac is Unacceptable and Lacks Meaning

Tanjug

Gordan Grlić Radman

Today, Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman described a resolution concerning Jasenovac, expected to be passed by the Parliament of Montenegro, as “unacceptable and meaningless.” He also shared Zagreb’s anticipated response.

While in Tivat meeting with members of the Croatian community in Montenegro, he questioned “what historical ties Montenegro has with Jasenovac.”

– There are absolutely none. It is neither historically justified nor politically sound. If such a resolution were to pass, a response from us is guaranteed, “Grlić Radman conveyed to “News”.

He suggested that Montenegro ought to confront its own history, noting that if it leans towards resolutions of this nature, it should also consider addressing the Christmas uprising of 1918, indicating that this is a matter of public consciousness and one of painful significance.

Grlić Radman further clarified that there is no “cooling of relations” with Montenegro.

– We are connected. We have extended a hand and wish to engage in a friendly greeting – stated Grlić Radman.
