Manchester United faced another setback with a disappointing performance as they suffered a 2-0 defeat against Crystal Palace in the 24th round of the Premier League at Old Trafford.
This marks Palace’s third victory over United in the last four encounters. Oliver Glasner’s side has leapfrogged the “devils” in the standings, managing to bounce back after their loss to Brentford in the previous match.
The game took a turn in the 64th minute, when Crystal Palace was awarded a free kick. Lacroix’s powerful shot hit the crossbar, only for Mateta to capitalize on the rebound and slot it into the net.
Mateta sealed the deal with a second goal in the 89th minute, assisted by Munoz, who exhibited great selflessness in setting him up.
The match was also marred by a significant injury to Manchester United’s Lisandro Martinez, who left the field on a stretcher in tears after suffering an injury in the dying moments.
In other news, Tottenham achieved a victory away at Brentford, winning 2-0 thanks to goals from Sara and an own goal by Janelta.
