Prime Minister Milojko Spajić held discussions with the Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenković during the Bled Strategic Forum.

It was highlighted during the meeting that fostering excellent relations between Montenegro and Croatia serves not only the strategic interests of both countries but also benefits the broader region. Thus, this high-level meeting was viewed as a strong commitment to bolstering bilateral relations. Croatia reaffirmed its robust support for Montenegro’s journey towards European integration.

Conversations focused on Montenegro’s European trajectory, particularly regarding plans to conclude negotiation chapters in the forthcoming Intergovernmental Conference between the EU and Montenegro, expected to take place by year’s end.

The Montenegrin Government’s decision to offer the Josip Marković Cultural Centre in Lastva to the Republic of Croatia was once again appreciated as a symbol of friendship, reflecting Montenegro’s willingness to resolve outstanding issues amicably.

In this same spirit, we are committed to working towards a shared future for our nations, Prime Minister Plenković remarked.

The meeting also emphasized the importance of foreign ministers continuing to tackle unresolved issues via consistent dialogue. Ministers Ervin Ibrahimović and Gordan Radman Grlić praised the efforts of existing bilateral bodies, considering them a strong base for future agreements. They concurred that the upcoming Intergovernmental Conference (EU–Montenegro) is vital for advancing Montenegro’s ambition of full EU membership.

Furthermore, the discussions shed light on enhancing economic collaboration, particularly in investment opportunities, boosting trade exchanges, and exploring new business ventures in mutually beneficial sectors.

Attendees of the meeting in Bled also included Croatia’s Minister of Health Irina Hristić and Ambassadors Boris Grigić and Dragan Tufegdžić.
