While inspecting a passenger vehicle operated by VS (50) from Berane, authorities discovered several bags containing various footwear and textile items, for which the driver lacked the necessary documentation, according to the Police Directorate.

The relevant prosecutor from the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Rožaje has been notified of the incident, and it has been determined that this case pertains to the crime of illicit trafficking. Consequently, the prosecutor has ordered that criminal charges be filed against the individual through standard legal proceedings.

The police stated that as part of their ongoing efforts to tackle the shadow economy and curb illegal trading activities, officers from the Regional Security Center “North,” specifically the Rožaje Security Department, conducted intensified field inspections yesterday.

“By persistently combating the shadow economy and illegal goods movement, officers from the Regional Security Center ‘North’ play a crucial role in safeguarding the economic order and the interests of the public,” the announcement concludes.
