European Officials’ Statements Effectively Counter Skeptical Remarks
The Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović responded to the remarks made by European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, who affirmed that Montenegro could potentially join the European Union by 2028 if it continues to make positive progress.
The unmistakable and clear stance of European officials regarding Montenegro’s European aspirations serves as a strong endorsement of the diligent and effective efforts of the Government and other institutions. It also highlights the European Commission’s commitment to recognize and support the achievement of our mutual goal – making Montenegro the 28th member of the European Union by 2028.
Furthermore, such declarations directly counter the skeptical and often ill-intentioned comments frequently made by opposition politicians and various commentators regarding the perceived inability and lack of will of the current Government and parliamentary majority to finalize the negotiation process by the end of next year, concluded the Deputy Prime Minister.
