The police in Podgorica apprehended a citizen of Kosovo, LB (20), on suspicion that he, along with IF (23) from Bosnia and Herzegovina, AZ (26) from Kosovo, and AT (23) from Albania, was involved in a robbery against a foreign national, according to the announcement from the Police Directorate (UP).

According to the statement, the suspects arrived at the victim’s apartment in a vehicle with Kosovo license plates. Upon her opening the door, they forcibly pushed her and struck her in the head, causing her to fall. They continued to assault her, preventing her from getting up or defending herself. FI then threatened her with a knife to her neck and demanded money.

The UP reported that the suspects stole approximately 1,900 euros, two gold rings, and two mobile phones from the victim, while also ransacking the apartment before fleeing the scene.

“Officers from the Podgorica Security Department – Criminal Police for Suppression of Property Crime have successfully addressed a robbery against a foreign citizen in Podgorica. One individual has been detained, while efforts to locate the other suspects are underway. Following the report of the crime, prompt actions were initiated, leading to the identification of four foreign suspects, for whom a local search warrant was issued. The police have since located LB (20), a Kosovo national, who is suspected of participating in the robbery alongside IF (23), AZ (26), and AT (28),” the UP indicated.

They added that the state prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica has been notified of the incident. Following their directives, LB has been arrested on suspicion of robbery, while charges have been filed against IF, AZ, and AT for the same offense.

“Officers from the Police Directorate are actively working to locate and apprehend IF, AZ, and AT, who are currently evading law enforcement,” concluded the UP statement.
