Sofascore Awards Debut to Millions of Viewers

This summer, Zadar was the gathering place for sports legends, famous football analysts, and esteemed TV presenters at the inaugural “Sofascore Player of the Season Award Show,” filmed as part of the Sunset Sports Festival.

The event made its debut on CBS in America, capturing the attention of millions across the globe.

The ceremony celebrated outstanding players from the top European leagues, with winners determined exclusively by Sofascore ratings—no fan votes or popular polls were involved. According to the statistics, Mohamed Salah topped the Premier League with an average rating of 7.78, while Rafinha led LaLiga with 7.80. In Serie A, Matia Zakanji secured the first place with a rating of 7.34. The Bundesliga’s highest rating came from Joshua Kimmich at 7.91, and in Ligue 1, Ashraf Hakimi achieved a rating of 7.76.

Additionally, awards were presented for exceptional performances in the Champions League and women’s football. Notably, the Founders’ Legend Award was bestowed upon Luka Modrić for the very first time.

The evening was co-hosted by journalist Kate Scott and football icon Peter Schmeichel, under the direction of multiple Emmy Award winner Pete Radovic. They shared the stage with Jamie Carragher, Micah Richards, and Alessandro Del Piero, while Dimitar Berbatov, Stipe Miočić, and Šime Vrsaljko were present in the audience.

Sofascore further celebrated the occasion with large billboards across major European cities—Barcelona, London, Liverpool, Munich, Rome, and Lyon—honoring the winners who made an impact this season.

“Every goal, every assist, every duel and miss contributes to the final score. This is why the Sofascore Trophy is the only award that genuinely reflects the action on the field.”
