A total of 15 employees from the Railway Infrastructure of Montenegro (ŽICG) at the Bijelo Polje railway station have joined the work stoppage initiated by their colleagues in Podgorica.
Currently, around 30 passengers, primarily foreign nationals, are at the Bijelo Polje station, waiting for transport arrangements to Belgrade after having previously purchased tickets.
Railway Transport has announced that, in light of the traffic disruption, they have organized bus transportation to ensure that ticket holders can reach their destinations. Buses will depart in half an hour headed to Podgorica and Belgrade.
A group of ŽICG workers, which includes over 80 train dispatchers, remote control dispatchers (TC), and traffic dispatchers, halted their operations today, effectively suspending train traffic.
They have stated that they will not resume their duties until the ŽICG management agrees to negotiate a salary increase.
