The jiu-jitsu athletes from the Montenegro Top Team club secured two medals at the European Championships held in Zadar.

Emir Delijić earned a silver medal, while Marij Marić took home the bronze.

Miloš Đurović finished in fifth place, Uroš Ivanović in seventh, and Marko Ivanović did not place.

“We fought hard and earned every medal and placement in full and competitive categories. Congratulations, guys! I’m incredibly proud of you,” remarked Marko Jokmanović.

Emir Delijić – 94kg Adults

“He achieved a 7-0 victory in the quarterfinals against Greece, won his semifinal match against Croatia when his opponent could not continue due to injury, and faced defeat in the final against Croatia. This marks a significant achievement in his competitive career, showcasing his consistent performance over the years. A true veteran in the Montenegrin BJJ scene, he continually steps out of his comfort zone, evolving and showing no signs of stopping. He works tirelessly for the team and supports everyone. You set a great example for both the young and the experienced. You deserve this honor,” stated the club.

Mario Marić – 77kg Cadets U18

“He clinched a 14-2 victory in the quarterfinals against the world champion from Croatia, lost by points in the semifinals to the current European champion from Ukraine, and quickly secured the bronze medal with a victory against Ukraine in the finals. This marks his second bronze at the European Championship. This year, he transitioned to a higher weight category and yet again found himself on the podium at the European Championship. His potential for growth knows no bounds.”

5th place Miloš Đurović – 62kg Cadets U16

“He won against Hungary in the quarterfinals, faced a 3-2 loss in the semifinals against the current European champions from Ukraine, and unfortunately lost in the bronze medal match against Moldova. This was his first appearance at this level, and despite being unable to fully participate in the preparatory camp due to injury, he persisted to reach the semifinals. His determination is commendable!”

7th place Uroš Ivanović – 77kg Adults

“He lost by a narrow margin in the quarterfinals against the current European vice-champion in a tightly contested match, won in the first repechage against Montenegro, but lost in the second repechage against Croatia. Uroš has demonstrated considerable skill and the potential to match finalists. With a few additional adjustments to his technique, I have no doubt we will see him on the podium soon.”

No placement – Marko Ivanović – 62 U18

“He suffered a points loss in the round of 16 and faced another defeat in the repechage during his first outing at the European Championship. Onward and upward,” said the club.
