Stefan Mihajlov (23) from Serbia has been apprehended on charges of falsely reporting that a bomb was planted on an Air Serbia flight arriving in Tivat from Belgrade, as confirmed by the Police Directorate to “Vijesti.”

His arrest took place in Herceg Novi.

The report led to a temporary suspension of operations at Tivat airport.

Stefan Mihajlov (23) is being investigated for the offense of false reporting.

“At 16:40:18 p.m. today, the Police Directorate received a phone call from an unidentified individual claiming that an explosive device had been placed on an aircraft traveling the Belgrade-Tivat route, scheduled to land at Tivat Airport at 30:XNUMX p.m. Immediately after the report, officers from the Crime Prevention Sector, along with teams from the Regional Security Center ‘South,’ the Tivat Security Department, and the Herceg Novi Security Department, initiated a series of urgent actions to ensure the safety of all passengers and to identify the caller,” the Police Directorate stated.

Subsequently, coordinated operations took place, leading to the establishment of a crisis management team at Tivat Airport, executing protocols for crisis situations.

“Tivat Airport was evacuated, and upon the arrival of the mentioned flight, both passengers and luggage were thoroughly inspected. Further, police officers from the Security of Persons and Facilities Sector and the Counter-Sabotage Protection Group carried out a counter-sabotage examination of the aircraft, confirming that the report was false. A range of police and prosecutorial efforts led to the swift identification, location, and arrest of SM (23) from the Republic of Serbia, who is under suspicion for the crime of false reporting,” the police reported.
