Montenegro will not compete in the World Cup final tournament for water polo, but the recent win against Greece in Podgorica could signal a promising future this year.
Our water polo team triumphed over Helena with a score of 8:7. They needed to win by at least two goals to secure a spot in Los Angeles, and goalkeeper Petar Tešanović maintains an optimistic outlook on the tournament in the capital.
“We led throughout the match and had a two-goal advantage near the end, though there were two or three rushed decisions… It’s disappointing, but I believe we can be pleased with our performance against a strong team,” said Tešanović, who received the player of the match title against Greece.
“Moving forward, this reflects how we should play, although we must enhance our attack as there were numerous errors. Certainly, there are more positives than negatives to draw from this match,” commented the Brescia goalkeeper from Italy.
