Bećir Vuković, due to his anti-Montenegrin actions, merits disdain rather than accolades, stated Nikola Rakočević, Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro and a member of the DPS Presidency.
He expressed that every jury member who voted for the “purveyor of hatred,” as Rakočević referred to Vuković, also warrants contempt.
“The Greater Serbia agenda, which rejects Montenegro and the Montenegrin people, has been honored with the most prestigious Montenegrin award. This exemplifies the values of the current government,” emphasized the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament.
He also noted that a certain Nikola Rakočević was among the jury members.
“If anyone considered me, I would like to clarify to the public that I was not involved,” concluded the DPS MP.
The jury for the July 2025 Award decided to honor writer Bećir Vuković, musician Miloš Karadaglić, and graphic artist Veljo Stanišić.
Many expressed outrage over the award being given to Vuković, recalling his claim that the Montenegrin nation was merely “a fabrication of Đilas and the Comintern.”
