Mandic: I Personally Suggested a Resolution on Jasenovac; Vučić Is Not Involved

Andrija Mandic

The President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Andrija Mandic, stated that he took the initiative to propose a resolution regarding Jasenovac, denying any association with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, as reported by RTV.

“This concept originated from us; I suggested it, Milan Knezević supported it, and we communicated with Prime Minister Milojka Spa. This is not linked in any way to Serbia or its President, Aleksandar Vučić,” Mandic commented on television following the Parliament’s discussion about the Genocide in the camps of Jasenovac, Dachau, and Mauthausen.

Mandic emphasized that there is no need to visit an embassy in Podgorica to confirm actions.

– “We hold our colleagues and authorities in Serbia and RS in high regard; our relations are strong and beneficial for Montenegro,” says Mandic, highlighting the significant trade and investment between the two nations, according to RTCG.

He mentioned that Vučić faces criticism throughout the region, portraying him as someone excessively involved in various matters.

– “Should anyone claim that Mandic or Knežević are marionettes, we must assert: We will sever ties with Belgrade. This non-commercial campaign attempting to sway the Serbian populace will not succeed, at least not among responsible politicians,” Mandic declared.
