Budva has reached a low point in terms of morality and spirituality, as the Mayor describes the city he governs as a mere servant of a party notorious for embezzling hundreds of millions of euros and rampant urban planning, according to the Budva branch of the New Serbian Democracy.

They assert that Nikola Jovanović’s sole purpose is to pave the way for the OKG DPS to regain power and to “sanitize” their histories by appointing them to key positions in Budva.

“It is disheartening to witness the Mayor of Budva Municipality employing the worst tactics reminiscent of Udba to obscure his role in reestablishing the criminal-political octopus. He resorts to deceit, spin, slander, and daily insults, disseminated through official social media channels. Following Jovanović’s ‘platform support’—which serves as a facade for betraying and selling out voters—DPS has infiltrated all government structures, including management boards, councils, and now executive roles in the Municipal Company, Wastewater, and Parking Service. The return of the ‘old team’ is now a reality, confirming that Nikola Jovanović has made a complete bargain for the OKG DPS’s return to power. Individuals like him strike agreements easily, motivated by their shared goal of personal gain, positions, and siphoning funds from Budva’s budget. In this process, the citizens of Budva have been unquestionably betrayed and sold,” the statement reads.

The new road in Dubovica, which Jovanović and Odžić claim to be of public interest, in reality, leads to private properties belonging to certain individuals affiliated with the DPS – SDP – Padrini coalition.

“Residents are faced with exorbitant prices, and we have reverted to an era where only a select few benefit—the old DPS-style, albeit in a new disguise. The illegal dump site in Brajići exemplifies the negligence and arrogance of the ‘Budva, our city’ staff, which not only jeopardizes the tourist season but also the safety of the locals. The people of Budva continue to bear the financial burden of the Padrini group’s election campaign, losing millions from the city treasury over the past two years due to the failure to approve the Temporary Facilities Program. Daily, we observe numerous locations seized and monetized by Jovanović’s activists, while he audaciously concocts and accuses others of his own actions,” the NSD Budva emphasizes.

However, the greatest irony lies with the wastewater project, which the statement notes has also been handed over to an official from OKG DPS.

“Envision the absurd situation where the Wastewater project—already funded with tens of millions from the city, which poses a significant risk to Budva’s budget, and which Nikola Jovanović has previously denounced as a mafia-like endeavor orchestrated by an organized crime ring around the DPS—has been given back to that same DPS as part of a ‘quota.’ Clearly, in the political framework established by Nikola Jovanović and his associates, everything is up for sale. Betrayal has become a standard practice, while money, bribes, and personal gain form the only political agenda. It remains to be seen when the citizens of Budva—especially the honest and deceived activists and members of ‘Budva, our city’—will declare enough! Enough of the city’s decline, enough of undermining public interest, enough of the morality degradation that Nikola Jovanović and his inner circle normalize and promote daily,” the statement concludes.
