Jadran Outperforms Primorje Thanks to Home Pool Advantage
The Jadran water polo team concluded the league phase of the Montenegrin championship with an impressive six victories.
In the final round held in Kotor, Novljan triumphed over Primorac with a score of 13:12, securing the advantage of playing at their home pool for the upcoming finals.
The finals will be a best-of-three series, with the first match scheduled for April 27.
This evening, Jadran held a lead of 6:3 in the second quarter; however, by the end of the third quarter, Primorac had turned the tide to lead 10:8. Victory for the visitors was clinched by captain Martin Gardašević, who scored just over a minute before the final whistle.
Pavel Halturin and Đuro Radović were the standout scorers for Jadran, each netting three goals.
On the other side, Filip Gardašević shone brightly with five goals for Primorac.
To reach the finals, both Jadran and Primorac need to succeed in the semi-finals, where they are clear favorites.
Jadran will face off against the fourth-placed Qatar, while Kotor’s opponent will be the third-placed Budva Riviera Budva.
The semi-finals will follow a two-win format, with the first matches set to occur on April 12.
